Friends of the Zimbabwe Academy of Music (FZAM) raises funds internationally for the Academy and helps to keep the profile of the Academy high in the music and arts world.

FZAM is the new name of the British Friends of the Zimbabwe Academy of Music, which was established in 2011 by a group of supporters in the UK. This small group was successful in supporting the Academy from an initial three-year fund-raising drive which grew to include a bursary fund to pay the fees of ten students, mainly from under-served black communities, and a weekly ‘Saturday School’ programme for around sixty children from fifteen junior schools. This project ran for three years and was generously supported by the British Council.

The new name reflects our world-wide support and ambitions and we have now launched an appeal for funds to support the Academy’s plans for the future

If you would like to donate from funds not denominated in British Pounds Sterling, please email the Friends on contact@fzam.org so that we can advise on the most cost-efficient way of doing this.
