FRIDAY 26 JULY AT 6.30 P.M.    VERDI: LA TRAVIATACarriages: 9.05 p.m. La Traviata is one of Verdi’s best-known operas, the  tragic tale of Parisian courtesan, Violetta, who attempts to leave behind the life she knows to try and finally find true love. When she meets romantic Alfredo, the hypocrisy of upper-class society threatens their love – and someone must pay the ultimate price. This lavish production of Verdi’s masterpiece features two of opera’s biggest stars, Renée Fleming and Ronaldo Villazón with James Conlon conducting the Los Angeles Opera Orchestra and Chorus.

    • The Los Angeles performance moved me more than any other Traviata has done in years;  [Gramophone]
